Recently, I’ve been able to share about my experience in the 10/40 window and I wanted to share information on what it is and why it’s extremely important.

The 10/40 Window is the rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East and Asia approximately between 10 degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude. More than half of the world’s population and people groups live in the 10/40 Window. Approximately 5.45 billion individuals residing in 8,853 distinct people groups are in the revised 10/40 Window.  6,058 (68.4%) of these people groups are considered unreached and have a population of 3.45 billion. South Asia, in the middle of the 10/40 Window, is the heart of Hinduism with its 33 million gods

There are approximately 2 billion Muslims in the world and almost 95% of them live in the (updated) 10/40 Window.

There are approximately 1.2 billion Hindus in the world and almost 95% of them live in the (updated) 10/40 Window.

There are approximately 400 million Buddhists in the world and 97% of them live in the (updated) 10/40 Window.

For every $100,000 a Christian earns, only $107 on average will go to world missions. And roughly 1% of that money- which is $1.07- will support the 3.1 billion people who live in unreached people groups. That means the United States will spend more money on pet costumes in 2018 than they will invest in missions to unreached people groups. According to the National Retail Federation, Americans are estimated to spend $1.12 billion on Halloween costumes for their pets. But only $450 million is given towards missions unreached people groups.

Something has to change.
