We’ve officially made it to Colombia!!
Our squad is wrapping up week one of being in Medellin, Colombia, and it has been such a sweet week together!
We are partners with a ministry called Ciudad De Refugio, which is focused on the restoration of those struggling with drug addiction.
Everything that we are doing, including recycling, cleaning, and prepping vegetables, kids ministry, working with the kitchen, and youth ministry, is all for the purpose of helping the foundation become self-sustainable. With the focal point of their ministry being street evangelism for the homeless, all the work we are doing is helping support that outreach. Almost all of the staff and volunteers at the foundation are people who were once addicted and on the streets themselves and then radically changed by Jesus through the help of the foundation. We get to work alongside living testimonies of the fruit of this ministry.
Although most of us may not speak the same language and have lived in extremely different circumstances, the restorative touch of Jesus in our lives creates a connection stronger than words. Acts 4:32 “Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul… they had everything in common.” When we share in Jesus, we share in everything. The body of Christ cannot be contained to one culture, language, or nation. When we fellowship with people who are different than us, the body grows stronger and His name is further glorified.
So today, I urge you to step outside of yourself- your culture, and your nation- and to pray for someone vastly different than you: The Arwa Mala people group in India. There are 97,000 in this group who desperately need the gospel. They are 99.97% Hindu and 0-0.1% Christian. Pray for the laborers and body of Christ in India who have dedicated their lives to reaching these people.
Attached is a resource on how to specifically pray for them. This website displays a different unreached people group and ways to pray for them daily.
