It’s been almost a month now since I left home for training. As I look back on my time here so far, I see a long winded path that has traveled through many small mountains and valleys. Amidst a season full of new challenges, friendships, opportunities, and questions, I find myself learning all over again what it looks like to make Him the center of my life. A few notable pieces of my journey so far are:

Learning what it looks like to surrender control to the King. From day one, I have found myself in a position where things are changing by the minute. This means that I have zero control, and yet the temptation of my flesh is to reach out and cling to any piece of control I can. It’s been an active process of choosing to make loving Him my priority instead of letting the things I can’t control take Lordship of my mind.

Remaining honest before Him and before people. For some reason, when in a place of leadership, it becomes quite easy to attempt to hide our weaknesses. It’s become overwhelmingly clear to me that the strongest leaders are the ones who lead from a place of vulnerability. I am starting to learn what it looks like to open my heart to a group of new people and walk in the light so that He can receive all of the glory.

Similarly, asking for help/ prayer has been so impactful. Without other people covering me in prayer and me being able to lean on my leadership team, I would get nowhere. The Word highlights this in Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ”, as well as James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”. There is so much rest found in dependence on the people around me through prayer.

Prayer Requests:
– For safety and unity as we head to domestic ministry in Black Mountain, North Carolina, this week
– For my squad to press in and finish this season in the states well before heading overseas
– For me and my leadership team to continue to fix our eyes on Jesus, and for the squad to join us in that posture

Praise Reports:
– We got another female squader! This is a huge blessing and has been a serious prayer request for months now. He is so faithful!
– Our squad had been experiencing the Lord in such radical and sweet ways. We’ve seen racers forgiving family members, being healed, trusting the Lord in new ways, and so many other testimonies!
– Our semesters squads got all of the leaders they needed, and they are officially on the field and doing ministry now! Thank you Lord for providing and keeping them safe!!
